The Salford MBA is one of the longest established MBA (Masters of Business Administration) programmes in the UK.
Since its inception, our MBA programme has striven to develop bold business leaders who can provide an enterprising and entrepreneurial approach to management.
Salford Business School is part of the University of Salford, close to Manchester City Centre in the North-West of the United Kingdom.
The Salford MBA is accredited by AMBA (Association of MBAs).
The Salford MBA will be based at our new building at MediaCityUK.
Determined Students, Bold Leaders
To create bold leaders we require committed students who want to grasp the opportunities that we can provide. If you are ambitious, creative, competitive and determined yet realise the need for collaboration, consensus building and compromise, The Salford MBA is for you. You should also have a minimum of 3 years managerial work experience.
The Salford MBA is a 12 month, full time programme; you will work hard from the start but will find the experience rewarding, challenging and possibly exhausting!
Practice Led Teaching
We focus on enterprise and entrepreneurship and work in partnership with local, national and international industry to facilitate change - and our emphasis on practice led teaching ensures that our students see the benefit of these partnership experiences in the classroom.
Key entrepreneurial skills that The Salford MBA will help you develop include:
- Presentation Skills
- You will engage in presentations both individually and as groups to different types of audiences. We will help you become an effective public speaker who can confidently engage an audience and effectively use a range of presentation aids.
- Critical Analysis Skills
- Studying for an MBA will encourage you to think actively rather than passively accepting what you read and hear. To grasp entrepreneurial opportunities you must be able to construct a rational, logical questioning approach that is not distorted by your own bias - we aim to turn you into a truly original critical thinker.
- Team Working Skills
- Our MBA intake is small and highly interactive - from the start of the programme you will learn the skills that allow a successful entrepreneur to work with, rather than against, the teams in which they work. You will enhance your negotiation skills to ensure that both you and your team perform to the maximum.

Salford
The City of Salford is a borough of Greater Manchester. It was a major industrial town in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially in the textile industries, and an important port. Salford was a major initiator of civic institutions and amenities; it lays claim to the first unconditionally free public library in the world (1850), Chapel Street became the first street in the world to be lit by gas (1806) and Peel Park, home of the University campus, was opened in 1846.
Salford's recent regeneration has seen the building of The Lowry gallery, theatre and arts centre, named after the world-famous artist L.S.Lowry, and the Imperial War Museum in the North (designed by Daniel Libeskind). Salford Quays will soon become home to 6 departments of the BBC, when the MediaCityUK development is complete.
